Atlantic Immigration Pilot
Launched in 2017 for an initial three-year run was created to address labor shortages in the Atlantic Canada. Atlantic Canada is consisting of following four provinces.
- New Brunswick,
- Nova Scotia,
- Prince Edward Island, and
- Newfoundland and Labrador (Atlantic Canada).
The program allows designated employers in these provinces to recruit and retain eligible foreign skilled workers and international graduates of universities and colleges in the Atlantic Canada region.
Atlantic Immigration Pilot program has three streams
- The Atlantic High-Skilled Program
- The Atlantic Intermediate-Skilled Program
- The Atlantic International Graduate Program
In order to be eligible for the AIP, applicants must have a full-time job offer from a designated employer and supported by the Provincial endorsement. Possess at least one year of paid full-time (or part-time equivalent) paid work experience in an occupation designated Skill Type 0, A, B or C depending on the stream you are applying for. Have a Canadian secondary, post-secondary credential or an equivalent foreign educational credential. Have a basic proficiency in language equivalent to Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 4 Possess the required settlement funds .Applicants must be endorsed by an Atlantic province before they apply with the federal Government for the final approval of permanent residency
