To be eligible an entrepreneur, an individual must have a specified financial net worth, business proposal, deposit amount be willing and capable to establish or purchase a business in the province of Quebec and actively manage the same.
The Quebec Entrepreneur Program is offered in two streams. Qualified business owners and managers can obtain permanent residence in Quebec provided that they can effectively create or acquire a business in the province.
Quebec Entrepreneur Program: Stream One
Stream one is focused on new businesses or startups established in the province with the support of a business incubator / accelerator or university in the province.Candidates under Stream One of the Quebec Entrepreneur Program can obtain points for factors such as education level, areas of training, age, language proficiency in French and English, and stay and family in Quebec.
Requirements
- The applicant must have Secondary School level education
- The applicant must have adequate settlement funds.
- The applicant must have a business project supported by an enterprise incubator / accelerator or university entrepreneurship center
Quebec Entrepreneur Program: Stream Two
Stream Two is focused on owner-funded and operated businesses. Candidates under Stream Two of Quebec’s Entrepreneur Program are awarded points for factors that include education level, areas of training, age, language proficiency in French and English, and stay and family in Quebec.
Requirements
- Minimum Financial net worth must be CAD$900,000.
- The applicant must have Secondary School level education
- The applicant must have adequate settlement funds.
- Provide a start-up deposit of CAD$300,000 for a business in the metropolitan area of Montreal and a deposit of CAD$200,000 for a business outside the metropolitan area of Montreal.
- The applicant must have a business project successfully evaluated.
- A refundable Performance guarantee deposit of $200,000 is required. Conditions apply.
