Express Entry is an online electronic system which manages the applications of interested skilled workers who wants to become permanent residents of Canada.
How Express Entry Works:
- An eligible candidate submits an online profile.
- Profile of the candidate is accepted into a skill pool where a ranking system called CRS (comprehensive ranking system) reads the profile and rank the applicant among others, by giving CRS Score. The CRS is a points-based system which assesses and rank candidates in the Express Entry skill pool. The CRS score is calculated on the basis of candidate’s age, education, work experience, language skills, adaptability and other factors. Total points are 1200.
- Twice a month, the Canadian government holds draws in the skill pool and selects the highest-scoring candidates from the pool and issues them with an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence.
- After receiving an ITA, a candidate has 60 days to submit a detailed online application for permanent residence, all required documents and the required Fee.
